Although it was misty to start with the weather improved and the sun came out .There were 189 entries, Joe Brocklehurst won in the time of 35.37. It was lovely seeing so many members from of the Wrekin Road Runners, after the fun run the main race started at 11.30am after a false start we quickly got going. I was very lucky today as my very good friend Mark Evans accompanied me round the race, as Mark is not too keen on muddy runs I did give him plenty of warning . We had a great backup called Graham who had legs up to the arm pits but was brilliant with me all the way round across fields and through lovely muddy woods but Mark seem to really enjoy the run. Coming up the hill I must admit that I had to walk up the last bit to the monument but once up there the view was awesome ,I found my legs again so off we went to the finish to a great welcome. We had a nice slate with the monument on, a very big thank you to Mark who was brilliant with me and the icing on the cake was that I did a PB not forgetting all the lovely and friendly marshalls. I loved it and would it again. I won the over 70s - well you've got to keep Wrekin on the map.
