This race was held in the Coventry War Memorial Park. First we had to face the traffic on the M6 which was not too bad and we arrived in plenty of time. There were 214 entries and the course was three laps around the lovely park with a slight incline and at least I got to see the winners passing me by a couple of times. It was a lovely evening, but by 8.30pm it suddenly went dark. It was nice to see Paul Williams who won 0/60 while I won 0/70 getting another voucher. Everybody was very friendly and I really enjoyed this race and would do it again. My time was 1:03:00, Paul Williams finished in 34:30.
A lovely sunshine morning to run through the park which was well supported by 228 runners. A few people got pbs but not me my time was 38.01.
This is a lovely race all around Ellesmere along the canal, 500 took part. It was well marshalled and had a great atmosphere. I was about 5k in when a man on a bike came up to me and asked for my autograph - my answer was not while I am running. I felt good on this race and was trying to concentrate on my running but he kept asking me questions, anyway I managed to finish ok. When the prizes were given out I did not expect any thing as I was under the impression that there was another lady in my age group. The prizes were different this time, each category including vets had 1st,2nd and 3rd prizes which I thought was very nice . I loved it and would do it again. I was pleased with my time of 1:20. I was first over 70 which meant a nice bottle of red for John.
