What a lovely morning, warm and sunshine. My only problem was that I had lost my bar code-
down the loo#### . My time was 40.57
Hill West Sutton Coldfield 10k - 18th May.
When Cynthia and I arrived at Sutton Coldfield, the weather was already warming up. There was a 4k race for the young ones which caused lots of problems as people were still entering at 10:40am which meant a delay of 30 minutes and they were short of marshals. I was beginning to lose interest however off we went, after the second mile I was running up a hill called cardiac hill when I got to the top. A man cyclist asked me if I was one of the runners from the race "yes why?" " well you are going the wrong way, you should have left at the bottom of the hill" so I had to turn back and get back on track. There were no marshals and no back up, I did a bit of muttering. I then went through lovely woods and more hills, three runners passed me twice. I came to a open field and was told to keep going but there was nobody about. I did ask some if they had seen any runners no, but if you keep turning right you should end up somewhere near the finish so this why I ended up running 6.85miles. Cynthia came in a different way to me not completing the 10k . For once it was not just me but quite a few runners went wrong. We were given a medal however we did it but it's off my list. Time 1h.34m .
Phoenix Flyer 5k 21st May
This was a new route from last year and a most enjoyable one. 274 had entered and the atmosphere was brilliant plus the very good weather. I was pleased with my run and time.
