Having this race on the door step I could for once have a lie in. Once I had collected my number it was so nice to talk to friends from all around.
The weather was great and we started on time with 141 entries. My back up was a young man named John from Newport, this race is quite a slog but once you have warmed up I feel settle down to a good rhyme and when I came in I had a lovely warm cheer from not only Wrekin members but everyone. There was a good atmosphere, nice medal and I enjoyed it very much. and would do it again. My was time 1h.49

In spite of the weather during the day it turned out to be a lovely evening.
67 turned up for this little run, we were just about to start when we heard a cry of wait for us as two late runners came in. The race got started and off we went, the first part is a bit of a climber but once on the top the view is awesome. I did manage to go in the wrong field but when I realised the grass was very long and no runners had been I quickly turned
around and got back on track. The race itsself contains nine stile,s 3 bridges and 3 very large fallen trees for my little leg to climb over. Through the wild garlic wood and up the lovely muddy hill and across the fields back to the village. Now in all this time there was no back up and the first marshal I met was at stile 8 but I loved every bit of the steeplechase.
Back in the church prizes were given out and I won either the o/50 or 60 or 70, I don't know which but it was a very nice bottle of red which I had got my eye on. I would do it again but I need to practise getting my leg over the stiles more quickly [ha ha] My time was time 56.44.
