This race was the last in the summer series with about a 100 entries. This was weird as I had number 112 on my back and in the post came my number 112 so for the race so I was 112 back and front.
We started on time although black clouds were hanging around the rain kept off till I finished the race. This race has many sneaky hidden hills as I was warned by my very tall minder, he kept saying you can walk up the hill if you wish - I just smiled and kept on going. The marshals were great and encouraging and kept warning me about my minder - great banter. As I love hills I felt quite at home and pleased with my time. Heather our daughter came and supported me, hurling advice. I really enjoyed the race and everybody was so friendly. My time 38 minutes.
Shrewsbury Town parkrun 5k - 30th August
Jan and I went to Shrewsbury and enjoyed the 5k run, we are getting use to the sneaky hill. I was very pleased with my time after last night [Friday race] My time 38.42
Little Aston 5 mile 31st - August
This is the 4th time Janet and I have done this race, a nice little run with a couple of testing hills. Well we finished the race and were quite pleased with ourselves. Then the problems started. After a long wait prizes giving started, they apologised but were having problems with the results so could not read out the times of the winners. After the winner had been awarded, the second place was called out when all of a sudden a very loud runner shouted I was second, so shuffling of paper work still no time given however all the men's prizes were sorted but not the women's only the first lady in so there were all these bottles of wine going nowhere. Every year there seem to be problems with the results so I need to go back next year just to see if I have won anything I still love it and would do it again. Both Jan and I finished in 65 minutes.
